Cobert D. (Pete) Stanley

Mr. Cobert D. (Pete) Stanley, age 81 of Dobson passed away at Elkin Health Care in Elkin on February 13, 2007. He was born in Surry County on February 11, 1926 to the late Thomas Edgar Stanley and the late Nellie Dockery Stanley, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Anna Lee Sebastian Stanley.
He was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Wayne Farms as a Truck Driver. Surviving are his two daughters Ms. Carol Greenwood of King, NC and Mrs. Patsy Harrison of Lowgap, NC; by four grandchildren Wayne Greenwood, Keith Greenwood, Kimberly Harrison and Justin Harrison; by four great grandchildren Chris, Michael, Shelley and Morgan. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Stanley Family Cemetery. Rev. Dan Buie will officiate the services. The family will receive one hour before the services at the funeral home on Thursday.
