Cora Maebelle Hawks

Mrs. Cora Maebelle Cockerham Hawks, age 71, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Woltz Hospice Home.  Mrs. Hawks was born in Surry County on October 26, 1947, to Claude and Essie Mae Gilley Cockerham.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and dear friend.  Among the many who will always cherish her memory is her husband, Price D. Hawks; her sons, Johnnie Hawks and Jimmy Hawks; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jeffrey Hodges; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Carolyn Cockerham; special friends, J. W. and Rhonda Boles; “Little Buddy” Joseph Pugh, and Frances Brown Holder.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hawks was preceded in death by brothers, Haywood Cockerham, and Russell Cockerham.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2018, at Rocky Ford Baptist Church by Rev. Claude Lloyd, and Rev. Joe Atkins.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday at the church from 12:00 until 1:45.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to the Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.  The family would like to express a special thanks to Yadkin Valley Home Health, Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, and the Woltz Hospice Home for the exceptional care of Mrs. Hawks.
