Cora Beola Tolbert

Ms. Cora Beola Tolbert, 90, of 303 Linville Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Ms. Tolbert was born September 13, 1919, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Joseph Daniel and Florence Ayers Tolbert. She was a substitute teacher in Surry County Schools for many years and was affectionately known as "Aunt Bea" to her students. Ms. Tolbert was a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. She is survived by Deborah Darlene Tolbert of the home; numerous cousins; many special friends; and her extended family from First Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 26, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with Dr. Roger B. Gilbert officiating. No formal visitation will be held at the funeral home.
