Mr. Corbit Garfield Wilmoth, 90, widower of Lucille Stokes Wilmoth, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2007. He was born in Surry County on August 27, 1916 to the late James Calvin and Effie Pardue Wilmoth. Mr. Wilmoth was a veteran of the US Army and a former member of Union Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was employed by J.A. Vance as a machinist and retired from Industrial Fabricators and Machinery of Winston-Salem. Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Norman of Winston-Salem and Joan (Ken) Meadows of Clemmons; four grandchildren Ricky Meadows, Tammy Edwards, Shannon Turner and Lorrie Brown; six great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Collie (Kermit) Sidden of Lewisville and Dorothy Crouse of Mountain Park; two brothers, Spencer (Georgia), Eugene (Betty Lou) Wilmoth of Thurmond. Mr. Wilmoth was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three brothers, Dallas, Daughton and Charlie Wilmoth. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 28, 2007 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with Elder John A. Harold officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
