Cory Trent Goad

Mr. Cory Trent Goad, age 46, of Ararat, VA, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Wednesday June 7, 2023.  He was born in Patrick County on December 17, 1976, to Carlos and Diona Bowman Goad.  He was a master of the grill and he loved to cook for his family. He had a love for hunting and all things outdoors. While he was devoted to his entire family, the love for his daughter was unmatched. In addition to his parents, Cory is survived by his wife, Jana Gwyn Goad of the home; daughters, Ragan Makenzie Goad of Mount Airy, and Laurel Puckett of Richmond; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher “Ryan” Goad and Jillian of Vernon, Connecticut; and a nephew, Charlie Goad.  A service of worship and celebration of Cory’s life will be held Thursday June 15, 2023, at 11:00AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Mount Airy with Bishop Brian Johnson officiating.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening June 14, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
