Coy Eugene "Gene" Goins

Mr. Coy Eugene Goins, Jr. age 68 of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Surry Community Health and Rehab. Mr. Goins, known to many as “Gene”, was born in Surry County, on December 22, 1953, to the late Rosa Lee and Coy Goins.  Gene is survived by his son, Damien Goins and fiancé Meghann, daughter, Billie Jean Campbell, his children meant the world to him. Also, left to cherish his memories are his three grandchildren: Brandon Eugene Johnson, Noetic Sebatian Jamal Mattox, and Noble Said Justice Mattox, brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny Goins and Meegan, Bobby Joe Goins, many nieces, and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Lee Goins, and sisters; Pat Douglas, and Ella Jean Dalton.  The family wishes thank the staff of Surry Community Health and Rehab, and Mountain Valley Hospice of Mt. Airy.  There will be no formal services held at this time.  Moody's of Mount Airy is serving the Goins family.
