Mrs. Cramer Norman Gentry, 65, of Columbus Lane, Elkin, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, with her loving family by her bedside. Mrs. Gentry was born May 9, 1944, in Surry County, to the late Joseph Early and Ora Ellen Adams Norman. She was formerly employed by West Point Home and was a member of State Road Pentecostal Holiness Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 46 years, Jerry Gentry of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Terry Bullin of Ararat, Mary and Tony Hutchens of Siloam, and Linda and Steve Nelson of Elkin; a son, David Gentry of Thurmond; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Gentry of Dobson; six grandchildren, Hannah and husband T.J. Jones of East Bend, Joseph Bullin of Winston-Salem, Rachel and husband Kevin Pace of Dobson, Deborah and Richard Jackson of White Plains, Matt Nelson and Jared Nelson, both of Elkin; a step-granddaughter, Terra and husband Mike Parker of Ararat; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Jones, Ellie Jones, and Audrey Pace; a great grandchild due in September; three step great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, and Joanna Parker; a sister and brother-in-law, Mamie and Charlie Teague of Madison; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Joanie Norman of Dobson; and special friends, Barry and Linda Martin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Florence Norman. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, by the Rev. Garry Tatum and Chaplin Stuart Roten. Burial will follow in the Zephyr Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017, or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Cathy Johnson, Susan McCormick, Molly Thompkins, and Chaplin Stuart Roten of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving and compassionate care they freely gave to the Gentry family.
