Mr. Curtis Franklin Danley, age 76, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Danley was born in Surry County on August 13, 1947, to the late Curtis Andrew Danley and Arlene Simpson Danley. He proudly served our country faithfully in Vietnam with his time in the military. He had a long career as a truck driver and caring for his family. He was a loving husband, father, and friend to the many that were blessed to have known him. Franklin was a proud member of the American Legion Post #123 and the VFW #2019. Franklin is survived by his loving wife Dora Danley of 46 years, son and daughter-in-law, Mark Danley and Shannon; his two special grandchildren, Jackson and Jace Danley; his twin sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane Sutphin and Ron, Jean Easter and Ronnie; nephews and their spouses, Brian Easter and Carla, Josh Chaney and Brittany, Tyler Easter; niece Heather Chaney; four great-nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 11 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with the Rev. Larry Phillips officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Mount Airy VFW Post #2019 and Pilot Mountain Post #9436. Per Mr. Danley there will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Danley family.
