Curtis Edmond Hodges

Mr. Curtis Edmond Hodges, 84, of Cana, VA, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Surry County on October 7, 1934 to the late James Edmond and Lizzie Cave Hodges.  Mr. Hodges was an independent truck driver for many years and drove, many millions of miles.  He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Carol Hodges; two grandchildren, Tandi (Chad) Porter of Milton, WV, and Lewis (Sierra) Doss of Mt. Airy; four great-grandchildren, Courtney, Ethan and Carissa Porter of Milton, WV and Autumn Marcus of Mt. Airy; nephews, Craig (Karen) Hodges and Matthew (Ronda) Hodges; and niece, Wanda Hodges; and a special friend, Mary Jackson of Pilot Mountain.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Virginia Ann Hodges; brothers, Conrad and Columbus Hodges; and a nephew, William Hodges.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with Dr. Jonathan Barker officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.  A private interment will be held later.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
