Curtis Hoover Marion

Mr. Curtis Hoover Marion, 88, of Dobson passed away Wednesday January 18, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on September 19, 1928 to the late Roscoe Henry Marion and Auta Jane Carico Marion. Mr. Marion was a retired electrician from Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Virginia and he also proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Marion is survived by his wife, Colleen Marion (formally Colleen Hutchins); a son, Timothy Curtis Marion; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Arthur McJunkin; a granddaughter, Joanna Lee McJunkin Kelley; two great-grandchildren, John Paul Jones II, and Samantha Audrey Thompson; a great great-grandchild, Annalisa Audrey Jones; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marion was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Mosley Marion; three sisters, Myrtle Marion, Arlene Agnes Marion Goins, and Callie Edith Marion Mayes; and three brothers, Paul Ashby Marion, Emmett Marion, and Roy Marion. Funeral services will be held at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy on Saturday January 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fonda Younger officiating with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Garden with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Pilot Mountain Post 9436 and Mt. Airy Post 2019 as well as Masonic Rites by Stuart Masonic Lodge #224 AF & AM. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
