Curtis Holt Mayes

Mr. Curtis Holt Mayes, Age 82 of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday January 28, 2012 at the Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. Mr. Mayes was born January 18, 1930 in Surry County to the late Joseph and Grace Hawks Mayes, he was a retired car salesman with Friendly Car. Co. and attended Ladonia Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law Sherry and Ken Lutz of Greensboro and Deborah Hornaday of Mt. Airy, one son Curtis Randy Mayes of Charlotte, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters Lena Mayes of Elkin and Hazel Nixon of Mt. Airy and by one brother Bobby Martin. In addition to his parents Mr. Mayes was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Glidewell Mayes. Graveside services will be held Monday January 30, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Tony Holder. There will be no formal visitation.
