Curtis James Poindexter

Mr. Curtis James Poindexter of Dobson, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home. He was born in Surry County, May 8, 1960, the son of James Poindexter and the late EllaMae Garris Poindexter. He graduated from Surry Central High School and was a salesman with Cantrell Mechanical Solutions in Gainesville, GA. Surviving is his wife, Kimberly Goins Poindexter; daughters and son-in-law, Brandi P. Poplin, and Amber and Joe Muir; granddaughter, Ava Poplin; step children, Brooke Ray and husband, Kevin, Summer Snow and husband, Josh, and Monica Hudson and husband, Freddy; step grandchildren, Parker Ray, Everly Ray, Lakyn Ray, Tanner Snow, Forde Snow, Bauer Snow, Cayden Hudson, Saylor Hudson and Emory Everhart; father and step mother, James and Kay Poindexter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Crystal and Charles Atkins, Cindy and Steve Wyatt; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Susan Poindexter; mother-in-law, Vernell Goins; brother in law and sister in law, Benny and Libby Goins; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, EllaMae Garris Poindexter. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Dobson with Rev. Mark Mayes officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.
