Curtis Leon Williams

Mr. Curtis Leon Williams, 84, of 119 Carolina Road, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday night, March 26, 2016, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Williams was born June 10, 1931, in Patrick County, VA, the son of the late Everett Vance Williams, Sr. and Audrey Hopkins Williams. Curtis served our country in the United States Air Force and later retired from Sprint Telephone Company after 25 years of service. He was a faithful member of Granite Masonic Lodge #322 AF and AM, the Oasis Shrine, the Surry Shrine Club, and a charter member of the Surry Shrine Mini-truckers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Sue Turner Williams of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Susan Williams of Siloam and Mark Williams of the home; and a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and David Hemmings of Dobson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Williams; an infant brother, James Leonard Williams; and two brothers, Everett Vance Williams, Jr. and Ralph Williams. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Russell Vass officiating. Entombment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Masonic rites conducted by Granite Masonic Lodge #322 AF and AM. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.
