Daisy Virginia Collins Marshall

Mrs. Daisy Virginia Collins Marshall, 87, of 766 Pine Ridge Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Marshall was born November 6, 1920, in Surry County, to the late Noah and Pearl Mae Hiatt Collins. She retired from Perry Manufacturing and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Michael Spencer of Mount Airy; a son, Larry James Marshall of Mount Airy; three granddaughters and spouses, Michelle and Scotty Felts of Mount Airy, Melissa and Ronald Johnson of Dobson, and Melinda Poole of Lowgap; three great-grandchildren, Miranda Poole of Lowgap, Morgan Johnson of Dobson, and Harley Felts of Mount Airy; a sister, Dorothy Collins of Mount Airy; and a brother, Delmar Collins of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall; four sisters, Louella Collins, Elsie Burkhart, Bessie Moore, and Martha Hardy; and three brothers, William Collins, Ernest Collins, and Early Collins. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 30, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Butch Holder and the Rev. Arlis Thomas, and burial will follow in the Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
