Dale Franklin Nunn

Mr. Dale Franklin Nunn, 59, of 439 Culbert Street, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006, at his home. Mr. Nunn was born June 12, 1947, in Surry County, to the late Elliott and Gracie Frye Nunn. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam, a life-time member of the VFW Post 2019 of Mount Airy, and of the Baptist faith. He was a master craftsman, a self-employed floor covering businessman, an outdoorsman, and, above all, a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Ayers Nunn; his daughter, Rebecca Nunn Jones of Charlotte; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Shelly Nunn of Statesville and Joseph and Debbie Nunn of Davidson; a grandchild, Robin Shayde Jones of Charlotte; a sister, Norma Draughn of Mount Airy; and several special friends. Dale Nunn is loved and will live forever in our memories. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Slate, the Rev. Todd Byrd, and speaker Gary York. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens, with military rites conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mount Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
