Daniel Robert Hensley

Mr. Daniel Robert Hensley, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, at his home.  Mr. Hensley was born October 4, 1930, in Surry County, to the late Walter and Rose Vipperman Hensley.  Daniel was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carrie Martin Hensley of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and William Childress; a son, Michael Hensley; three grandchildren, Travis Childress, Rosa Settle, and Christa Pittman; and six great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by four sisters, Lizzie Converse, Margie Goins, Cindy Chandler, and Dorothy Martin; and two brothers, Will Hensley and Benton Hensley.  The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Allan Easter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Korners Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
