Danny Stephen Rogers

Mr. Danny Stephen Rogers, 81 of Mount Airy passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Mr. Rogers was born in Nash County, North Carolina on August 8, 1939 to the late Stephen William and Mary Ida Hardy Rogers. Danny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  He was a volunteer fire fighter with CC Camp Volunteer Fire Department for many years.  Danny enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 24 years, Marie K. Jones Rogers of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Darius Lane Rogers of the home, Stephen Craig and Pam Rogers of Lexington, North Carolina, Douglas Kevin and Pam Renee Rogers of Lewisville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Sgt. Taylor Stephen Rogers of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Anna Elizabeth Rogers of Lewisville, North Carolina; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bill Whitehurst of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Robert Jones; special nephew Chris and wife Tracy Whitehurst and great-nephew, Ayden Whitehurst all of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; nephew, Eric Jones, niece, Nichole Jones and fiancé Austin Phillips, along and a great niece, Parker Phillips; special longtime friend, Osler Jenkins of Elkin, North Carolina.  Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by parents.  Internment will take place in the Mount Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, in Fries, Virginia. No formal visitation will be held at this time. The family will have a memorial service at a later date in his honor.  Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is serving the family.
