Darrell Glenn Pickerel

Mr. Darrell Glenn Pickerel, 52, of Woolwine, passed away Friday evening. He was born in Franklin County on September 18, 1956 to Robert and Lennis Via Pickerel of Pulaski, Va. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Pulaski, Va.; he graduated from Radford University with a B.S. degree and was an office manager for Corning Cable Systems in Winston Salem. Mr. Pickerel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Jesse and Nannie Lou Via and his paternal grandparents; William and Ella Pickerel.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Glenda Rorrer Pickerel, a daughter; Shannon Pickerel, and a son; Jesse Pickerel. Funeral services for Mr. Pickerel will be at 2:00 PM on Monday October 20, 2008 at Woolwine United Methodist with Pastor Jack Hyde and Pastor David Lones officiating, burial will be at Woolwine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart and other times at the home place in Woolwine.
