David Clarence Busick

Mr. David Clarence Busick, 90, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Central Continuing Care.  He was born April 23, 1932, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Charlie Franklin and Jane Gwyn Busick.  David retired from the North Carolina Granite Quarry and was a member of Dayspring Baptist Church in Dobson.  He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Busick was a longtime Patient Family Volunteer for Mountain Valley Hospice, who was appreciated and loved by all the staff and patients.  He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Marty Brannock; step-daughters and son-in-law, Darlene and Rick Carico, Detra Boyd; a step-son, Dwaine Bowers; his grandchildren, Angela and Josh Taylor, Candice and John Kerley; great-grandchildren, Mela and Haven Taylor, Corbin, Owen and Ellie Kerley; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; special friend, Velma White; a sister, Hassie Dawson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Busick, Curtiss and Carolyn Busick, Carl Busick, and Roy and Barbara Busick, Marlene Busick; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Busick was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Lee Busick; his second wife, Cora Busick; his third wife, Jewell Bartlett Busick; a son, David Eugene Busick; brothers and sisters-in-law, Grover and Betty Busick, Wade Busick, Sam Busick, Linda Busick, Ann Busick.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Crouse officiating.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home in Mt.
