David Hines Martin

Mr. David Hines Martin, age 90 formerly of Minnies Chapel Loop Stuart, passed away Saturday Morning at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was retired from East Hampton Rubber Thread and a member of Stuart Baptist Church where he was Deacon Emeritus and a former Sunday School Teacher. He was born October 19, 1917 in Patrick County to the late Everett E. Martin and the late Emily Williams Martin. He was also preceded in death by his wife Hattie Watkins Martin; two brothers deceased, Richard and Shuble Martin and a sister deceased, Ruby Steifle. Surviving are two daughters; Janelle Martin Mann and husband Richard of Richmond, Va. and Emily Martin Gunter and husband Glenn W. "Bill", Jr. of Stuart, Va., One brother, Henry Martin of Memphis, Tenn.; Three grandchildren, Susan Gunter Simmons and husband William Edward; Keith William Gunter and Lauren Carter Mann and One great grandson, Tyler Gunter Simmons. Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Dr. R. Clint Hopkins officiating. Burial will be at Patrick Memorial Gardens.
