David Spencer

David Eugene Spencer passed away peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the age of 73.  He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and concern for others.  He owned and operated One Day at a Time, a rehabilitation facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and he dedicated most of his life to helping people in need.  David lived a fulfilling life as a father, brother, and friend.  He is survived by his son, David Spencer, II; his sister, Glenda Piper; his brother, Mark Spencer; his brother-in-law, Glen Piper; his sister-in-law, Shelia Spencer; and his brother-in-law, James Barnett.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nellie Spencer; his sister, Shirley Barnett; and his brother, Terry Spencer.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Pastor Alan Paschal officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
