David Leon Wilson

Mr. David Leon Wilson, 77, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, Thursday, June 18, 2020.  He was born in Grayson County, April 28, 1943 to the late Robert and Gladys Wilson.  Mr. Wilson was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, father, brother and friend.  He retired from United Plastics after many years of service.  Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois Jean Porter Wilson; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca Jean Wilson Austin and husband, Russell, Donna Gail Wilson Taylor and husband, Mark; brothers, Robert E. Wilson, Jimmy Wilson and wife, Joyce; sisters, Mary McGuire and husband, Kenneth, Carolyn Anderson and husband, George, Connie Sizemore and husband, Dallas; a sister-in-law, Patsy Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by brother, Charles Wilson, and a sister, Ruby Reynolds.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with Pastor Titus Anderson, and Pastor Aaron Sizemore officiating.  Burial will follow at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Woodlawn, VA.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home Tuesday, from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.  Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), anyone is welcome to go by the funeral home Monday from 11:00 until 4:00 to pay their respect.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy c/o Rebecca Morris, 3149 Coal Creek, Galax VA. 24333.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
