Davis Winton Morris

Mr. Davis Winton Morris age 87 of 443 Speas Mill Road, Cana, husband of Mrs. Mary Frances Gentry Morris passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Morris was born May 26, 1921 in Carroll County, VA to the late John C. and Martha Stuttler Morris. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Galax, VA. Mr. Morris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances Morris of the home, a son Dwayne Lamm, Kannapolis, NC, two adopted sons, Ronnie Taylor and Donnie Taylor both of Spartanburg, SC, two grandchildren, Dalton Lamm, and Josh Taylor, a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Bertha Morris, Mt. Airy, NC and his three special dogs, Daisy, Pepper and Levi.. In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Morris Gale and a brother, Ernest Morris. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September, 18, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducted by Rev. Todd Byrd and Bishop David Hiatt. Burial will follow in Morris Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap, VA. The family will receive friends 12:30 PM Thursday until time of the funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
