Dawn Margaret Barkley

Mrs. Dawn Margaret Eckrote Barkley, age 49 of Patrick Springs passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 at her home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara J. Parsley Eckrote.

 Dawn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a larger than life personality and a smile that would light up a room. She loved being in the sun and she loved the beach. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and was a bright spirit that burned out to soon. 

 Surviving is her husband, Ralph Barkley of Patrick Springs; four children, Shaine Eckrote of Patrick Springs, Ryan Pennington of Fieldale, Britni Newman of Chatham, and Cortni Pennington of Stuart; one step-daughter, Madison Barkley of Patrick Springs; three sisters, Shonda Barkley of Patrick Springs, April Elvington of Stuart, Corrinna Meeks of Roanoke; one brother, Lawney Eckrote Jr. of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Roman Newman, Jackson Davis, Bennelli Newman, Tatum Newman, Oliver Newman, Noah White, and R.J. Pennington.
