Dayton S. Johnson

Mr. Dayton Spencer Johnson, age 78 of Dobson passed away on Sunday November 2, 2008 at Heritage Care of Elkin. He was born in Surry County on August 27, 1930 to the late Samuel Wilson "Hoover" Johnson and the late Dona Simpson Johnson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Stephen Dayton Johnson; four sisters and six brothers. Mr. Johnson was a retired Trucker Driver for Pilot Freight, and was a Member of the Copeland Masonic Lodge 390 and was a Shiner and loved helping children. Surviving are his daughter Kathy Ann Johnson Smith of Yadkinville; a granddaughter Briana Smith; a sister Muriel Golden of State Road, NC; The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shiners Hospital for Children 950 W. Faris Rd. Greenville, SC 29650 or to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane Suite 200 Mt. Airy, NC 27010. Their will be no formal visitation at the Funeral Home or Services held. Moody-Davis Funeral Svcs. Inc. in Dobson is serving the Johnson family.
