Mrs. Deborah Dawn York Farmer, 70, of Lowgap, went to be with her Lord, and Savior on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from her home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on March 19, 1952, to the late Roy and Woltz Dickens York. Mrs. Farmer worked for 24 years for Tultex as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Farmer was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 52 years, Rev. Robert Farmer; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura Butner (Michael, Jr.); grandchild, Kendalyn Butner; sister and brother-in-law, Deanna Benge (Ralph); special nephews, Zebadiah Benge, Ezekiel Benge; special niece, Sandra Benge Wood; special friends, Berniece Price, and Lennis Mae Crotts. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Lyons. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Lowgap with services conducted by Bro. Michael Butner Jr, Bro. Davis Smith, and Elder Woody Edwards. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, and from 1:00 PM until time for the service on Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church in Lowgap.
