Deborah Ann Dowell Palmer

Ms. Deborah Ann Dowell Palmer, 51, of 1134 Holly Springs Road, Mount Airy, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2009, after suffering a long battle with sickness. Ms. Palmer was born April 25, 1957, in Forsyth County, to Alma McHone Dowell and the late Offar Ray Dowell. Deborah was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Greg Durham of Pilot Mountain; a son, Alan Palmer of Mount Airy; a grandson; her mother, Alma McHone Dowell of Mount Airy; a sister, Jennifer Dowell of Mount Airy; two brothers, Gary Dowell and Greg Dowell, both of Mount Airy; two nieces, Christy Dowell and Savannah Hull, both of Mount Airy; a nephew, Cory Dowell of Mount Airy; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; a special friend, Norma Jean Sands of Pilot Mountain; and three special dogs, Ginger, Sally, and Samson. In addition to her father, Ms. Palmer was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ricky A. Dowell. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
