Debra "Debbie" Sue Shelton

Mrs. Debra Sue Culler Shelton, age 65, of Mount Airy, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Shelton was born in Mount Airy on August 7, 1953, to the late Winfred Morgan Culler and Ruby Etta Cloud Culler.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed.  Debra was retired on disability from Estes Express Lines where she won over many friends from various industries and her co-workers with her wit and humor. She gave special attention to children she encountered at any place.  She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.  Surviving are her husband, Ron and the two lights of her life, Kasi and Taylor; and Kasi's husband Michael Gilliam; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Mary Alice Culler, Dennis and Penny Culler and Dean and Laurie Culler; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Justin Wells and two very special friends, her beach buddies, Jerry and Linda Sheets.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 3, 2018, at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum by Rev. Danny Culler, Rev. Scott Schuyler, and Rev. Rusty Reed.  Entombment will follow.  There will not be a formal visitation.  Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.  The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care provided by Tina Leonard, Sheila Craddock, Sam Killion and Stewart Mauck of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and the entire staff of the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home during Debra’s illness.
