Mrs. Debra Kay Lawson, age 67, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday night, November 25, 2024, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on August 26, 1957, in Surry County, to Gaynell Phillips White and the late Daniel Jack White. Mrs. Lawson retired as a registered nurse with the chemotherapy office, which she faithfully loved doing for 47 years. Mrs. Lawson served as the pianist for many years and held many offices at Welcome Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed. Surviving Mrs. Lawson is her loving husband of 45 years, Mark Lawson; son, Jonathan Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Drew Belton; grandson, Jax Belton; her mother, Gaynell White; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Cindy White; nephew, Jacob White and his mother, Annette White. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Dr. Rick Jackson officiating. No formal visitation will be held per her request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Services 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or www.cancerservicesonline.org in honor of her life.
