Delane Todd

Mr. Delane Todd, 74, of Lowgap, passed away Monday night, September 13, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Todd was born October 31, 1946, in Surry County, the son of the late Coy Claude Todd and Ruby Mae Moncus Todd Fortner. Delane retired from Cross Creek Apparel after 39 years of service and was currently a security guard at TNT Carports, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diane Oakley Todd of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Gary Holt of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff and Andra Todd and Robby Todd, all of Mount Airy; thirteen grandchildren, Dakota Todd, Dalton Todd, Alisha Thomas, Mason Payne and his wife, Kirsten, Levi Todd, Leah Todd, Scottlin Todd, Letty Todd, Corey France, Tyler France, Jackson Holt and his wife, Amy, Kelsey Irvin and her husband, Steve, and Kaylynn Lewis; three great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Ethelene and Fred Arrington of Mount Airy; a brother, Leroy Fortner of Fries, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Todd was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kynslee Ann Payne; a sister, Barbara Sue Todd Beck; and two brothers, Curtis Todd and Carldean Todd. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Spurlin and the Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
