Delbert Stanley Talbert

Mr. Delbert Stanley Talbert, 95, of Lowgap, passed away Tuesday evening, July 25, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born August 14, 1927, in Nicholas County, WV, one of twelve children born to the late Okey Stanley Talbert and Nora Belle Hinkle Talbert.  Mr. Talbert proudly served our country in the United States Army and retired from Republic Steel Mill in Cleveland, OH.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 72 years, Dortha Jane Hanna Talbert; four daughters, Nora Jane Woods and her husband, Paul, Pamela Lynn Brandhorst and her husband, Kim, Rondalyn Sue Blair, and Sheryl Lavonne Shookman; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ada Lorene Cloninger and Hazel Thacker; a brother, Wallace Talbert; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Talbert was preceded in death by a son, Dallas Stanley Talbert; four sisters, Betty Howard, Flora Davis, Louise Payne, and Onalee Haynes; and four brothers, Donald Talbert, Okey Talbert, Johnny Talbert, Jimmy Talbert.  There are no formal services planned at this time.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
