Delilah Ann Midkiff Vernon Heath

Mrs. Delilah Ann Midkiff Vernon Heath, age 81, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Joan and Howard Woltz hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born on January 8, 1942, in Surry County to the late Glenn and Addie Inman Midkiff.  Mrs. Heath was a retired bus driver for Mt. Airy City Schools and also the Surry County School System.  Left to cherish her memory are sons and daughters-in-law, Bart Vernon (Dusty), Jon Vernon (Suzanne), Andy Vernon (Melissa), Leigh Ann Heath, Kimberly Garcia, Susan Heath; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Imogene Midkiff.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heath was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Heath; son, Timothy Lewis Vernon; brother, Jimmy Nelson Midkiff; sister, Glenna Midkiff.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Dr. David Sparks.  Burial will follow in Midkiff Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Heath to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
