Delmar Marion Goad

Mr. Delmar Marion Goad, 79, of Hillsville, VA, passed away Saturday morning, February 26, 2011, at Heritage Hall-Laurel Meadows Nursing Home in Laurel Fork, VA. Mr. Goad was born December 3, 1931, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Charles and Ocie Hull Goad. He is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mattie Goad, Geneva Goad, and Elsie and Tom Hodges; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goad was preceded in death by two sisters, Hattie Goad and Edith Smythers; and three brothers, Alvin Goad, Leonard Goad, and Dennis Goad. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 28, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow at Gardner-Goad Cemetery in Dugspur, VA. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
