Delores Christine Jackson Greer

Mrs. Delores Christine Jackson Greer, age 70, of Hillsville, Virginia passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax. She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on December 25, 1953, to the late Eldridge Tony Jackson and Francis Viola McMillian Jackson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Greer was preceded in death by her husband, David Samuel Greer Sr.; two sons, David Greer, Jr. and Tony Glenn Greer; and one brother, Tony Jackson. Mrs. Greer was extremely hardworking and devoted to her family, always putting their needs before her own. Her grandchildren were her heart and being their Granny was the joy of her life.

Left to cherish the fond memories of Mrs. Delores Greer are four children, Sandy Greer (Jason Sexton) of Narrows, Virginia, Dawn Greer of Hillsville, Virginia, Richard Greer of Fort Chiswell, Virginia, Elizabeth Whiteley (Leon Conner) of Meadows of Dan, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Faith Adams (Dustin Adams), Emily Whiteley, Lucas Shelton, Bailey Greer, Josh Shelton, Ben Conner, Noah Conner; four great-grandchildren, Madison Hall, Natalie Hall, Dylan Adams, Brantley Maxwell; daughter-in-law, Lori Greer of Rocky Mount, Virginia; five sisters, Doris Brown of Fries, Virginia, Kay Smith of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Debbie Kinard of Austinville, Virginia, Bytha Bowers of Austinville, Virginia and Carolyn Jackson of Hillsville, Virginia; and several loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. 

A funeral service for Mrs. Greer will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor James Houchins officiating. Burial will follow in the Greer Family Cemetery on Deer Run Road in Ferrum, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
