Delorise Jean Dowell Edwards

Mrs. Delorise Jean Dowell Edwards, 61, of Galax, VA, passed away at Twin County Regional Hospital, Thursday, November 10, 2022, after a long battle of declining health.  She was born in Carroll County, May 30, 1961, to the late Roger and Pauline Tilley Dowell.  Mrs. Edwards was a loving a kind-hearted, soft-spoken person with a warm smile.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Edwards; a sister, Denise Webb; and a brother, Donnie Dowell.  She will be dearly missed by her children, Melissa (Jorge) Gonzales, Chris (Laura) Edwards, Rodney Edwards, Jeffery (Victoria) Edwards, Amanda (Kevin) Davis, and Billy Edwards; her grandchildren, Arwyn Edwards, James Edwards, Emma Davis, Jaden Davis, Britany Bowman, Kimberly Knott, Sarah Bowman, Elana Edwards, Mason Edwards, and one more on the way; six great-grandchildren, sisters, Diane Bailey, Darlene Cockerham; and brothers, Doug and Dewayne Dowell.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Moody Funeral Home with Rev. Oscar Hill officiating.  Burial will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
