Dennis Wayne Hicks

Mr. Dennis Wayne Hicks, 56, of 352 Airview Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 20, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Hicks was born September 9, 1954, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Robert Glenn and Malzy Jane Barnard Hicks. He graduated from North Surry High School in 1972 and was a member of Mount Airy Wesleyan Church. Dennis is survived by a daughter, Neoshia Newman of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Maurice Newman-Vargas and Michaela Vargas, both of Mount Airy; a brother, Donald Hicks of Martinsville, VA; and a special friend, Glenda Horton of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 22, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
