Dennis Clyde Hodges

Mr. Dennis Clyde Hodges, 60, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018.  Mr. Hodges was born April 9, 1958, in Surry County, to the late Robert and Estelle Oakley Hodges.  Dennis worked for the city of Mount Airy for 28 years and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his soul mate and fiancée of 36 years, Becky Baldwin; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jim and Libby Hodges and Robert Hodges, Jr.; two sisters, Theresa Vaughn and Jackie Jones; two nephews, BJ Hodges and Justin Vaughn; three nieces, Brooke Cherry, Stevie Hodges, and Saprina Vaughn; two great nephews, Phoenix Cherry and Maverick Cherry; and a great niece Arya Whitaker.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Stephen Hodges; and a great niece, Penelope Whitaker.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Roger Mears officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family would like to express their appreciation to Kortnie Curry and Justin Floyd, as well as Kenny and Karen Boardwine, for all their help and kindness.  Additionally, the family is grateful to the Davidson County E.M.S. and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance.
