Dennis Craig Leftwich, Jr

Mr. Dennis Craig "D.J." Leftwich, Jr., 28, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Mr. Leftwich was born March 2, 1983, in Forsyth County, to Dennis and Judy Leftwich of Cana, VA. He was employed as a crew chief at Seal Brothers Contracting and was a member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church. D.J. was a wonderful and loving son to his mama and daddy and a wonderful daddy to his children, Fisher, Kali and Mason. He was loved by so many, and in 28 years he made a difference in a lot of lives. He was a friend to anyone who would be his friend. To his Seal Brothers family, you were respected and loved very much, especially his crew. Our son had a heart as big as the sky and made of pure gold. We thank God for every second we had with D.J., and just as the Lord promised, we will meet again. What a blessing! To his three children, your daddy, D.J., loved you dearly and was proud to call himself your daddy. D.J., you will be missed by so many, but you will never be forgotten. We love you with all of our being and we will see you soon. Mama and Daddy "Keep Smiling." In addition to his parents, D.J. is survived by his children, Fisher Cade Leftwich, Kali Sawyers, and Mason Gormish, all of Mount Airy; the mother of his children, Tabatha Brannock of Mount Airy; a special granny, Gladys Parker Boyles of Cana, VA; and Herman and Rita Leftwich of Cana, VA; a great-granny, Ida Mae Parker of Mount Airy; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many special friends. D.J. was preceded in death by a special papa, Jerry Styres Boyles. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Fancy Gap Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutchens-Venable Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Fancy Gap Baptist Church.
