Dennis Edgar Raines

Mr. Dennis Edgar Raines, age 81 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Surry Community Health Center in Mount Airy, North Carolina.  He was born in Surry County, North Carolina on June 9, 1942, to the late Clyde Raines and Agnes Hodge Raines.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanette Shelton, and Debbie Shelton (Tony).  Dennis was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going to the beach.  He was a skilled woodworker.  He loved his family, especially his beloved wife, Rebecca, she was his everything.

Left to cherish the memories of Dennis, are his beloved wife, Rebecca Beasley Raines; one daughter, Beverly Raines Henson; four step-children, Chris Rakes, Shirley Joyce, Sandra (Darryl) Clement, and David (Tammy) Rakes; seven step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Adam (Jessica) Shelton and Thomas Matthew Shelton.
