Mr. Dennis James Taylor, age 66, of Elkin, NC passed away at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem on Friday morning January 29, 2021.  He was born in Northampton Co. Va. On July 30, 1954 to the late James Taylor and the late Agnes Hall Taylor.  Mr. Taylor was a  faithful member of Zephyr Baptist Church and was a passionate follower of Christ. He was the prior owner operator of Eastern Shore Ambulance Service, Inc in Virginia before coming to live in Elkin, NC in 2007. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chance Holston; a great-granddaughter, Madalynn Allshouse; a brother, Erwin Taylor. Surviving is his wife, Margaret Shelton Taylor; children, Chastity Hinson, Ray Velbis, Christina and Matthew W. Allshouse; grandchildren, Little Ray Velbis, Charles Velbis, Matthew C. and Jenna Allshouse,  Brandon and Chelsea Allshouse, Ethan and Katelynn Allshouse, Nickoli Velbis, Cameron Martin, Patrick Hogan, Hannah Allshouse, and Hailey Martin; great-grandchildren, Brendan Velbis, Joshua Velbis , Daniel Allshouse, Alexis Allshouse, Kinsley Allshouse, and Mason Allshouse is on the way.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 31, 2021, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Zephyr Cemetery.  Rev. Craig Key will officiate the services. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Taylor family.
