Dennis Junior "DJ" Upchurch

Mr. Dennis Junior “DJ” Upchurch, 69, of Mount Airy, NC, passed away Friday night, January 7, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital. He was born in Surry County on July 12, 1952, to the late Dennis Bernard Upchurch and Maggie Jean Senter Upchurch. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Melissa Lynette Pack and husband Monroe, and Stephanie Marie Gravely; sons; Timothy David Upchurch and James Bradley Upchurch; a stepdaughter, Courtney Willard; 5 grandchildren, Zack Gravely, Jordon Upchurch, Blake Upchurch, Maggie Upchurch, and Brayden Upchurch; a sister, Brenda Pressley; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Shirley Upchurch; a special nephew, Doug Upchurch; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Upchurch was preceded in death by a grandson, Skyler Upchurch; sister, Mildred Marie Latham; and four brothers, Hurley Lee Upchurch, James Carlos Upchurch, Wayne Eugene Upchurch, and Bernard Arwood Upchurch. There are no formal services planned for DJ at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Upchurch family.
