Dennis Hasvil Vaughn

Mr. Dennis Hasvil Vaughn, 54, of Cana, VA, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Vaughn was born December 21, 1956, in Forsyth County, to Bertha Jean Dean Vaughn and the late Hasvil Vaughn. He is survived by a daughter, Denise Vaughn and her fiancé, Mike Petty, of Mount Airy; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela Fay and Thomas Kingsbury of Mount Airy; a son, Johnny Willard and his fiancée, Angel, of Florida; two grandchildren, Aleigha Kingsbury and Garrett Cannoy; two stepgrandchildren, Scarlett and Brianna; his mother, Bertha Jean Dean Vaughn; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Junior Fulp of Mount Airy, Esther and Gary Robertson of Cana, VA, and "Peanut" and Tommy Johnson of Mount Airy; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Dannie and Shirley Vaughn and Dale Vaughn, all of Cana, VA. In addition to his father, Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by a grandson, Gabriel Kingsbury; and a brother, David Vaughn. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 31, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Flat Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Bledsoe and the Rev. Johnny Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
