Denny Ray Collins

Mr. Denny Ray Collins, age 77 of Pilot Mountain, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at his home.  Mr. Collins was born in Surry County on July 9, 1946, to the late George Randall and Lilla Dove Marion Collins.  Dennis proudly serviced his country in the United States Army.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Doris Samer Collins; two sons, Mark Ray Collins, Daniel Shawn Collins; stepson and daughter-in-law. Tyson S. Key and Aimee; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; four sisters, Margaret Collins Campbell, Frances Collins Turney, Hilda Collins Joyce, Barbara Collins Wall; two brothers, Joe Collins, Donnie Collins; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Lee Collins Dezern; two brothers, infant boy Collins and Wade Leon Collins.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens in Mount Airy with Reverend Eugene Brinkley officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 2019 Mount Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain.  No formal visitation will be held at this time.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
