Mr. Dillard Wade Loflen, 93, of Mount Airy passed away on February 6, 2022, at Central Continuing Care of Mount Airy. Mr. Loflen was born in Surry County, November 22, 1928, the son of Dillard and Jettie Moody Loflen. He was retired from Proctor-Silex Corporation after many years of service. He was a member of Granite Masonic Lodge #322 where he served as past master and was certified masonic lecturer. Mr. Loflen was retired from North Carolina National Guard where he attained the rank of Captain and was member of Flat Rock Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Harriet and Mike Ables; granddaughter, Heather Ables Bernstein and husband Gregory; great grandchildren, Grayson Cole Berstein and Violet Mara Bernstein. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Monroe Loflen, and his brother and sister-in-law, Lester (Buck) Loflen and Kathryn Loflen. A graveside service will be held, Thursday February 17, 2022, 2:00 PM, at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Wilborn Rives officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Granite Masonic Lodge # 322, and military honors will be conducted by the North Carolina National Guard. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu flowers memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565. www.mhc-oxford.org.
