Dollis L. McCreary

Mrs. Dollis L. McCreary, 93 of Catlett died on Saturday, October 28, 2006 in Catlett. She was born in North Carolina on December 16, 1912 to the late William Jesse and Catherine Sheppard Lawrence. She and her husband operated McCreary's Hotel on Route 1. In addition to her parents Mrs. McCreary was preceded in death by her husband, Burnie Hildred McCreary; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Burnie Hildred McCreary, Jr and Thomas Wesley and Leah McCreary. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Simmons of Greenville, NC; two brothers, Wade Lawrence of Asheboro, NC and Woodrow Lawrence of Elkin, NC; three sisters, Louie Elks and Ruth Wiseman both of High Point and Mary Creig of Pantego, NC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
