Mr. Don Pearl Brintle, 74, of Cocoa, FL, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at his home after a long illness. Mr. Brintle was born March 22, 1941, in Surry County, the son of the late Jacob Spencer and Hattie Pearl Nichols Brintle. Don worked as an electrician for many years at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. He moved to Florida where he worked and retired. When he wasn’t working, you could find him on the river on his airboat or traveling back to North Carolina to visit his many family members. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Cocoa, Amvets in Rockledge, and the St. Johns River Airboat Association. Don is survived by his son, Jacob Spencer Brintle of Cocoa, FL; his daughter, Donna Gerri (Tracy) White of Cocoa, FL; his son, Donn Cameron Brintle of Cocoa, FL; and three grandchildren, Austen, Caitie, and Colin White, all of Cocoa, FL. He is also survived by three brothers, Hal (Peggy) Brintle, Blaine (Sue) Brintle, and Harry Brintle, all of Mount Airy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brintle was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Brintle, Hugh Brintle, Garld Brintle, Max Brintle, Joe Brintle, Johnnie Mae Wackerman, Jack Brintle, and Betsy Hutchens. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Don Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery, beside his mother who he never met. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
