Don Lee Wilmoth

Mr. Don Lee Wilmoth, 67, devoted husband of Hazel Hamlin Wilmoth, of Dobson, passed away on Thursday June 14, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on February 24, 1940 to the late Thomas Byrd and Stella Snow Wilmoth. Mr. Wilmoth was a graduate of Dobson High School, class of 1958 and was retired from Patterson Toyota after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Salem Fork Christian Church and an active member of the Dobson Lions Club. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty seven years, Hazel Hamlin Wilmoth of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Shane Fowler of Dobson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Dana Wilmoth of Clemmons and David and Andrea Wilmoth of Emerald Isle; three grandchildren, Alex Fowler, Marissa Fowler and Evan Wilmoth; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Reva McDevitt and Cathy and Jim Current all of Dobson and Carolyn and Clay Flippin of Pilot Mountain; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Spencer and Maria Wilmoth of Greensboro, Wayne and Edna Wilmoth of Dobson, Tommy and Barbara Wilmoth of White Plains, Bruce Wilmoth and Michael (Pete) and Imogene Wilmoth all of Dobson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilmoth was preceded in death by a daughter, Marisa Wilmoth; two brothers, Kent Wilmoth and Alfred Wilmoth. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Saturday at Salem Fork Christian Church with Rev. Jim Mauldin and Rev. Stuart Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Salem fork Christian Church where his body will remain until the hour of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Camp Agape or to Foothills Food Pantry, in which Mr. Wilmoth was very supportive, c/o Salem Fork Christian Church, 2445 White Dirt Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
