Donald Kieth Adkins, 46, of Forsyth County, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2021. He was born on June 22, 1974 in Welch, West Virginia. Kieth obtained his GED from Braxton County High School in 1992 and went on to drive a coal truck for the mines. That is when his passion for driving trucks and heavy equipment all started. He later worked for companies such as Shore Grading, Perdue, DVA Transport (his own car hauling company), and Best Logistics. He lived and breathed big rigs and diesel engines. Driving the roads was his life for decades until he made the switch to being a diesel mechanic. He absolutely loved every minute of it. In his spare time he loved being outdoors, being on the water, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Kieth was preceded in death by his brother Jeff Adkins. Surviving are his parents, Donnie and Patricia Adkins; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Kay Adkins, Victoria (Vicky) Adkins and Micheal Tolbert; grandchildren, Lilith “Ellie” Avila, Kenny Tolbert, and Koria Tolbert; sister, Angela Campbell; sister-in-law, April Adkins; niece, Hannah Adkins; and wife, Kimberly Adkins. He is also survived by his animals that he loved dearly: 3 cats; Little Girl, Callie, and Skittles, as well as 3 dogs; Spot, Camo, and Bella.
He was an amazing father to his daughters Donna Kay and Vicky. He was always there for them through their ups and downs, and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. His grandchildren Ellie and Kenny absolutely loved going to Grandpa’s because they knew it meant going on adventures, getting gifts, renting movies, and desserts.
A Celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Friday May 28, 2021, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the time of his service at 2:00 PM.
