Donald Gray Badgett

Mr. Donald Gray Badgett, 76, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.  Mr. Badgett was born in Surry County on March 10, 1946, to the late Lawrence and Lettie Shelton Badgett.  He was a retired supervisor from Fast Track convenient stores, and past officer of Mt. Airy Police Department, and Surry County Magistrate.  Mr. Badgett proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.  He is survived by his wife, Linda White Badgett; daughters and son-in-law, Tracy Tolbert and Joel Cassell, Lisa and Mark Ferguson; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Becky Badgett, Brian and April Badgett; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Polly Love, Gail and Tommy Hicks; a brother, Gary Badgett; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Badgett was preceded in death by a sister and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Wayne Nichols, Edsel Love; a sister-in-law, Judy Badgett.  A private graveside service will be held at Salem Fork Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Austin Caviness officiating, and military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain.  There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with medical expenses.  Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
