Donald Grey Beane

Mr. Donald Grey Beane, 73, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away early Friday morning, June 17, 2022, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born on January 21, 1949, in Surry County to the late James Franklin and Ola Hamlin Beane. Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Sarah Lou; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Mark Tucker of Pilot Mountain; granddaughter, Avery Tucker, Pilot Mountain; granddaughter Hadly Tucker (Ben Osborne) of Pilot Mountain; a great grandchild due November, 2022; sister, Brenda Bowman of Pinnacle; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Diane Beane of Westfield; mother-in-law, Allie Golding of Lowgap. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Draughn.

Coach Beane touched countless lives coaching and teaching for 38 years. Fellow coaches always loved to hear his stories from the past while former players always felt the genuine love and care he gave to them. His players that suffered an injury while he was coaching always knew how to recover by just “rubbing some dirt on it”.
